The Zambia Athletics women National Team have left for Poland, the team qualified for the world relays in Poland after running a national record at Heroes Stadium during the All Comers Meet on 11th April 2022. The ZA president, Mr. Elias Mpondela was at the Airport to encourage the ladies ,in his send off remarks he said go and shine and make Zambia proud he wished the team the best of luck and thanked everyone who came on board to support this journey. The event which saw about ten teams participating made the local leadership happy. Mupopo banned for 4 years by Athletics Integrity Unity (AIU)

(Daily Mail) DIANA CHIPEPO, Lusaka THE Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) has banned 400m runner Kabange Mupopo for four years for doping violations. According to the latest sanctions on doping and non-doping violations, Mupopo is among over 30 world athletes that have been banned. Mupopo was alleged to have taken some external substance and her ban was effective August 12, 2017 to August 11, 2021. Zambia’s promising youngster, Sydney Siame is gradually living up to the hype, with the 19-year old storming to a World Leading (WL) time of 9.88s to win the men’s 100m at the All Comers Meet held on Sunday in Lusaka. It was a show of intent from Siame who further underlined the immense potential he had displayed since winning the Youth Olympics GOLD three years ago in Nanjing, and now he has set a new National Record (NR), eclipsing his previous Personal Best of 10.18s. By so doing, Siame has now qualified for the World Championships in London which will be his second appearance at the biennial event, having debuted in Beijing two years ago.
