MINGILISHI AND SAMUKONGA OFF FOR WORLD ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIP IN OREGON.

African Champion in 400m men,Muzala Samukonga and 400m Women Silver medalist Niddy Mingilishi last evening left for World Athletics Championship to be held in Oregon in the United States of America. Muzala and Niddy will compete with the world best 400m athletes. The team left through KK International Airport aboard Qatar Airlines and are expected to arrive today. The championship will commence on July 15 -24, 2022 and will be televised on Supper Sport. The trip is fully sponsored and supported by the Ministry of Sport through the National Sports Council of Zambia. Go Zambia Go

Choma Half Marathon 2022

Be a part of Choma’s first ever Mayor’s Half marathon to be held on the 26th of February, 2022 in Choma district. The event which is aimed at promoting wellness is being organized by the Choma District Commissioner’s office and Zambia Athletic (ZA). This event will include the 10k and 5k supporting races with the main race being the 21km Half Marathon Race. The marathon will be used as an assessment and selection for the athletes for that will represent Zambia at the World Athletics Half Marathon Championships to be held on the 27th of March, 2022 in Yanghou, China. The postponement was arrived at after careful review and guidance of health experts on the country's vaccination rate and the continued effect of the provisions of SI 21 & 22 of 2020 on Covid- 19. At Lafarge Zambia, health and safety are our core values. As such, the safety of our nation, participants, and Partners is of paramount importance to us.
