The Zambia Athletics (ZA) Management regret to advise its participants and the general public that, the Half Marathon dubbed “Race2Beat COVID –19, 2021 which was scheduled to take place on August 7, 2021 at Heroes Stadium will not take place as scheduled, but moved to a date to be communicated, but not later than November 6, 2021. This decision is in view of the continued numbers of the covid-19 cases and as advised by the Ministry of Health and the Athletic partners. Our athletes, officials and outsourced support providers are the most valuable assets to Zambia Athletics. RELAY TEAM OFF TO POLAND, THEY ARE RIPE & READY TO TAKE ON THE GLOBE

The Zambia Athletics women National Team have left for Poland, the team qualified for the world relays in Poland after running a national record at Heroes Stadium during the All Comers Meet on 11th April 2022. The event which saw about ten teams participating made the local leadership happy. THE African Union Sports Council (AUSC) Region 5 Youth Games scheduled for Maseru, Lesotho from 4 to 13 December 2020 have been postponed by a year due to the prevailing coronavirus pandemic. The Games will now be held in December 2021 with the 2022 Games scheduled for Malawi remaining unchanged. “The spiking numbers of COVID-19 infections in almost all Region 5 Member Countries continue to be a cause of concern and source of anxiety in the sports movement,” the organisers said in a statement on Wednesday. The decision was reached during the Troika of AUSC Region 5 Ministers of sport virtual meeting held on Friday, 31 July 2020. Suwilanji Mpondela – Africa’s youngest newly elected Athletes Commission Chair

Suwilanji Theresa Fotwe Mpondela will long remember Saturday 9 March 2019. She made history that day, becoming the first Chair of the Athletes Commission for the National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ).
